I wanted to write an update on our little Abel. About three weeks ago, I went in for a routine doctor's appointment where they just do a weigh in and measure my stomach. (Please note, I was only 30 1/2 weeks) To my joyful surprise, my stomach was measuring in at 36 weeks. (Yikes..I know)
In retrospect, I believe this was God's hand on Abel's life, because it is what got us in to do a sonogram. Nervous that the baby may be a 15 pounder, I was scheduled a sonogram for the following week.
The sonogram went well except for one small detail. Little Abel has one kidney that is dilated. This means for some reason urine is getting backed up into this kidney. Once they found this out, they sent us to a specialist where it was confirmed that this was true.
So...here we are, with a diagnosis that assumes that he may have to have surgery after birth, and at this point, there is very little chance that he could heal on his own prior to birth.
As the diagnosis was determined, I just felt in my heart that they did not include God. We go back on June 5th for another sonogram, and we will see then how Abel is doing. I am praying and believing for God to heal him. I don't know how it all works out, but I am trusting in God who is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I will keep you posted. I just wanted to give God the glory by posting the before.

We have been praying. I love your faith. BTY- thought his name was spelled Able- glad I found out before monogramming anything. See God worked that out too by me not getting that done yet :)
Oh, Andrea! I wish I'd have known today at the shower. I'll pray for complete, divine healing...with no surgery! It was so good to see you today. Love you all!
We are praying for precious little Abel!
He took care of Luke and he will do the same for Abel. Lets pray on Tuesday for the little cherry pie.
Hey Andrea,
just stumbled upon your blog from Jen Windles blog. I will be praying for your sweet little boy.
Things are going well on my end for denton transform. We have already gotten a lot donated! praise God!
have a GREAT memorial day.
Andrea, Allen had an enlarged left kidney and we found out in January. He was measuring one month larger than expected. He came 2 weeks early and weighed 8.79. They told us the same news as they are telling you with Abel. They did a sonogram when he was born and one the day after. The kidney was enlarged still, but he had plenty of wet diapers, so this dropped the level of concern. We just had a follow up sonogram last week at his month old check up. The kidney has gone down some and they are just going to monitor it. I just wanted to share our story as the doctors made us feel there would be a surgery, but now we do not need one. God does heal. He will work everything out. Praying for you guys, Wendy and Josh
Praying with you friend! :) I miss seeing you at church, I know we just go to different services...
God can do immeasurably more than anything we could ever ask or imagine. We will be prayingfor you guys. You have always been a pillar of faith!
We are thinking of you and praying for sweet baby Abel.
Abel is fearfully and wonderfully made. Thus says the Lord.
My love,
Pam<><
