This week will be dedicated to Luke. It has been one of those weeks where Luke has made stories that I will not forget for the rest of my life.
It started on Monday where my sweet little boy was wanting some attention while I was working from home. Trying to help accommodate his need, I allowed him to sit behind me on the couch. I handed him my calculator, and I thought all was well. As I took a little glance back to check and see if he was ok (keep in mind, we are touching back to back), I noticed that he had a pen in his hands. YES...a pen!
In shock, I looked and saw that my yellow micro suede couch had about ten pen marks across it. It was a little depressing at first, but I am trying to convince myself that it adds flavor.
The next story was a little more scary than the first. Yesterday, Luke woke up with a low fever. Throughout the day, it became progressively worse. At 8:00pm Friday night, Luke had somewhere around 106-107 degrees of fever. Needless to say, we drove him up to the hospital. It was one of those times where you are heart broken with the what ifs, but comforted by the knowledge of God being in control of all things.
After a long evening of testing, which included giving blood, two shots in the thighs, an x-ray, and a catheter, Luke was diagnosed with pneumonia. It was a tough night, but we were grateful to have the thoughts and prayers of all our friends and family.
Here is a pic. of the "chicken" who made this week possible.
